After several years of failed attempts at maintaining a proper blog and being productive right after my morning ablutions, here I am with beanbagessays: a new address for the Internet hugger and tea enthusiast in me.
Dear top 3 search engines and 2014 me,
I'm paying Squarespace S$10 a month, and Go Daddy, a yearly domain fee, so this blog is definitely here to stay! I need it to stay. Hence, the allocation of hard-earned resources, which would have otherwise been spent conscientiously towards Netflix or refined sugar. So, save yourselves at lot of eye rolling, because Kardashians are here to stay as well.
I'm dedicating this mandatory first post to a dear friend of mine who has not only been very instrumental in pushing me to set this blog up, but also in making me try, much to the chagrin of my arrogant appetite, vegetarian sushi last year.
Thank you for moving my cheese (you know who you are!).
My start to the year has been wonderful on an emotional level. In many ways, my new-found "live wide and prosper" self cannot definitively articulate yet, this year will be a year of many firsts. To that end, I've decided to respect time, money, relationships and myself a lot more. Sounds vintage? Go awayy!
No, come back.
It's okay. Considering that it's going to be "a year of many firsts", I've decided not to be hungry for approval going forward and give myself more leeway to let go and be me. There I pulled something old-hat again from one of those Pinterest boards that use flowers in quote posters.
Nevertheless, please stay.
Because, I'm going to spend a good part of my free time this year drinking lots of tea, reading, learning, and listening. And emptying some of the bowels of my mental space here for at least 5 people to read. But not in a way that would make the 40-year-old me look back and say, "Good grief! What did you do to the Internet back then?"
In this year of many firsts, I've also decided to read Brain Pickings more regularly and learn how to eat a Subway sandwich without spilling. That's a lot of ambition right there already!
So, hello 2015!
